What Makes My Superfoods Soo Super?!?
Even on the WORST day in my current season of life….I would choose this journey over and over again in a heart beat!
Motherhood, Adulthood…well, all the “hoods” are hard, but being truly happy in the hard has been such a blessing! The saying, “Happiness is an inside job” has such a deeper meaning then I realized as an adult or even once I became a Mother. Our bodies were created to be at a state on constant health and when we fuel our body with just the right balance of nutrients it actually causes our brains to be more happier! Crazy right…food can make you happy?!?!
Let me clarify! I’m not talking about the pint of ice cream after a breakup or the bag of Oreo’s you ate in the closet while hiding from your kids who are totally stressing you out. Emotional Eating doesn’t make you truly happy, it just leaves a short instant gratification that eventually makes you feel worse!
What I mean is the Gut-Brain Connection! It’s actually a real thing…
When our gut health is off balance from eating too much junk food, fast food, alcohol, etc it can cause our mood to be off balance too! Research has shown that most of our anxiety, stress, panic attacks, and other behavioral issues in children can be linked back to imbalances in our guts from consuming the wrong foods daily! Taking medications for these issues only suppresses the symptoms. It doesn’t actually heal the problem at the source.

My family, including my kids, have seen so many amazing health benefits from being able to fuel our bodies with amazing nutrients! When are guts are in balance we are able to be naturally happier with less to no anxiety, panic attacks or melt downs.
I have lived my life full of anxiety, stress and worry and didn’t realize how bad the issue really was. Self refection is a hard thing! It wasn’t until I noticed my daughter struggling with the same anxiety and stress issues that I knew we had to make a change as a family!
Almost 2 years ago my daughter was diagnosed with dyslexia and her dyslexia is intensified with stress and anxiety. A child with dyslexia is often over whelmed, extra stressed and over stimulated by their classroom environments so learning and concentrating is really difficult. I knew has her Mom it was my job to help her control her stress and anxiety naturally, so she could push through the learning struggles of dyslexia.
This is when I learned HOW MUCH nutrition, gut health, and daily habits effect our stress and anxiety levels!

Clean eating has made such an amazing difference for my daughter! She is an A/B honor roll student and loves to read now! Before this superfoods journey she felt so discouraged and defeated when it came to reading and spelling. But, being able to control her anxiety and fuel her with extra brain food she actually had the confidence to try out for the Oral Reading UIL team this fall and she MADE THE TEAM!
My point is this…Dyslexia, ADHD, Panic Attacks, Depression, Anxiety Disorder…each one of those things can greatly be improved with proper nutrition! I have personally experienced it with myself, my husband, my children, and my clients.
