5 Reasons To Love “Busy Mom”

Clean Eating Freezer Meals

Evenings are just never long enough! The older my kids get the more involved each of them get into extra curricular activities. This means most evenings are shared with a sports practice, school event or something similar. It becomes a balancing act trying to squeeze in homework, quality time together, and sticking to a decent bed time each night.

As a Certified Nutritional Health Coach, what my kids are eating for dinner and the quality of food is important to me. Especially with a super busy schedule their bodies need good nutrition to help avoid sickness, dehydration, and exhaustion. The problem with making sure my family has a healthy and nutritious meal each night is the amount of time I was spend preparing it in the kitchen!

Evening hours together as a family are limited and spending that precious time in the kitchen cooking and cleaning up the mess was taking over my evenings. This is why our “Busy Mom” Clean Eating Freezer meal options were created! These are 5 reasons to love our “Busy Mom” Clean Eating Freezer Meals for your family too.

The average family meal (4-5) servings can take an hour to hour and a half to cook and clean up, start to finish. Some recipes can take even longer depending on the meal. Most Moms don’t have that much time to devote to cooking and cleaning in the evenings. Plus, if you aren’t comfortable cooking it could take even longer trying to follow a recipe that seems complicated.

My husband and I now have 4 kids and we have really become a team “dividing and conquering” when it come to getting everyone to where they need to be in the evenings. Depending on which of us gets home first, we know to preheat the oven and bake the already planned out freezer meal for that evening. Cook time for most of the freezer meals is 25-35 minutes depending on the recipe. With the short cooking time I am able to save precious evening time for my family instead of in the kitchen.

We also offer lunch portion or single servings meals that are perfect for a quick and healthy lunch option. This saves time from running to a fast food place or choose to sit down at a restaurant. The meals warm in the microwave for 2-3 minutes and give you plenty of time to decompress during your lunch hour.

Cooking and preparing healthy meals can be expensive, especially if you aren’t a big time cook. One of the biggest secrets when it comes to creating a healthy meal that is delicious…is the seasonings! Learning which seasoning to add to which meats or veggies is very important when it comes to your kids enjoying the meal instead of complaining and refusing to eat. Nothing is worse then spending extra money and time to prepare a healthy meal only to have your kids tell you they don’t like it! Ugh…the “Mom struggle” is real! But, if you don’t have the culinary knowledge to create a healthy meal your family will actually eat, then you are just waisting money on extra groceries.

When you choose to preorder freezer meals it allows you to avoid extra cost on seasonings, produce that could go bad before your able to use them, and other ingredients that might not be essential to the recipe at all. Knowing and understanding which ingredients actually allow a meal to be considered “clean eating” can be overwhelming if you aren’t sure which ingredients are good or bad. Preordering freezer meals is defiantly more cost effective then trying to cook on your own.

Have you ever really looked at the ingredients section of a packaged product?? Not the white nutrition label that shows the carbs, proteins, sugars, etc but below that. The section that has all of those crazy big words that most of us don’t understand….that’s the ingredients! The reason the words seem crazy to us is because they aren’t real wholesome ingredients they are chemicals! Chemicals in foods now days are causing havoc on our bodies with anxiety, weight gain, chronic disease, exhaustion, and much more.

We have seen and experienced for ourselves the damages the chemicals can do, so we strive to avoid using those chemicals in our freezer meals. We create and modify recipes to include healthy ingredients that will bring nourishment and health to the families consuming them. Our meals are prepared with organic meats, gluten free noodles, and flaxseed tortillas. The best part about these meals is that even though we use the healthy ingredients the food still tastes super delicious!!

Healthy + Yummy…?!?! Double win for sure!

Can I make a confession…?? I really dislike doing the dishes!! As a family of 6 our kitchen sink isn’t empty except for about 10 minutes after I finish loading the dishwasher. When I was trying to cook each night for my family the dirty dish load became even worse. On nights when I had several big pans or skillets dirty from dinner I wouldn’t be able to fit everything in the dishwasher, so I had two choices either hand wash them or leave the rest for the next day. Well, you can guess my choice which left me always feeling behind when it came to having a clean kitchen.

This is one of the reasons I absolutely love serving freezer meals to my family. The foil baking pan goes into the trash once it’s empty. We use our “fine china” (paper plates) to eat on, so that goes right into the trash too. I don’t have any dirty pots or skillets from the meal preparation because I didn’t have to cook the food that night. So, all that is going into the sink dirty is a few silverware pieces and possibly a spatula. This makes meal time so much easier and helps me avoid extra anxiety from having to look at a cluttered kitchen sink all the time.

Each season of Motherhood just gets busier and busier. The moments of quality time with our children can seen less and less too. Quality time with our kids is the most important part of our day because they are only that age that day, in the morning they will be a day older. Cherishing each season of life with our kids before it passes should be a priority daily.

Eliminating the evening time spent cooking and cleaning up the kitchen is the perfect opportunity to spend quality time with our kids. Asking about their day, staying involved in their school work, learning about the friends they are hanging out with. Even grouchy teenagers want to spend quality time with their parents so they can feel important and loved. We can’t make more time in a day, but we can open up our evening schedules more and that’s exactly what serving clean eating freezer meals does for my family!
