I have felt a call on my life to write Bible Studies for about 10 years now. Through trial and error, self-doubt, and being a busy mom, I have finally found a great routine that allows me the time to sit and record God's words on paper.

This study examines the biblical concept of joy, not as fleeting happiness contingent upon circumstances, but as a profound, enduring sense of peace and contentment rooted in God's presence. The key verse is:

"You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore." - Psalm 16:11

The Fullness of Joy Bible Study is a four-week study that explores what true joy truly is. Ultimately, joy is not a thing but a person—the person of Jesus Christ. Joy is a deep-seated, lasting sense of well-being and contentment, often rooted in one's relationship with God and not necessarily dependent on external circumstances. It's a fruit of the Holy Spirit and a characteristic of a Christian life, rather than a fleeting emotion like happiness. If joy is a gift, then why, as Christians, do we still experience anxiety, depression, or sadness? That is because we are living life on this side of heaven in a broken world. A world that looks and searches for joy in worldly things instead of the one who created the world.

Over the years, as I have studied scriptures, one of my favorite things to do is to “break down” scripture. I love searching for the deeper meanings and uncovering the hidden treasures that aren’t found in just the surface level of reading scripture. Jesus often preached in parables that had deeper meanings, and that’s what I love to find. In this new Bible Study, I have included a verse breakdown for each week as an example of how I approach it and to provide deeper wisdom.

I pray this Bible Study becomes a tool that draws you deeper in trust and contentment with Jesus. I pray that you fully grasp what true biblical joy is and how to live it out on a daily basis. Yes, we were promised trials and tribulations here on earth. But, we were also promised a Savior who would never leave our sides in the midst of the trials and tribulations….and he doesn’t!
